It’s time to get ready for the Monterey Motorsports Reunion and if you’ve been to Monterey Car Week before you know how chilly it can be in the middle of Summer. You’ll need a hoodie!  And they've just arrived.  These hoodies sport the attention getting 60th Anniversary BRE wreath in gold on the front and the Cars of BRE on the back (listed in detail below). These hoodies are high quality and heavyweight. They are so heavyweight we initially thought they were oversized but when you slip it on you realize that a lot of the size is the thick, quality fabric they are made with, which includes a comfy fleece interior and an elastic band at the wrists and waist. Sizing: In these images, Gayle is wearing a size small. Her review is that they are generously sized in the shoulders and sleeves but for women that have a curvy body she recommends ladies go up one size from their normal shirt size to get a little more room in the midsection and hips. These high quality, heavyweight hoodies are made with pre-shrunk 70% ring-spun (soft) cotton and 30% polyester for durability and to keep their shape. Even though the fabric is pre-shrunk it can still experience additional shrinkage (3-5%) if washed in warm/hot water or dried on a high heat setting. The Cars of BRE artwork features all the BRE cars designed by Peter Brock, built by BRE or raced by the BRE team. From top down: The iconic #46 BRE 240Z: Which won SCCA C Production class Championships in ’70 and ‘71, driven by none other than John Morton. The Triumph TR-250K: Which Brock designed and built for Kas Kastner, Competition Director for Triumph USA to show the Brits what kind of aerodynamic, sleek car they could build on their Triumph chassis’. The BRE Hino Samurai: The GT car Brock designed, built and brought to the Japanese Grand Prix in 1967 with great fanfare. The Datsun 2000 Roadster: BRE’s first Datsun racer. It’s success in winning the Pacific Region in 1969 garnered BRE the Datsun West Coast Factory team contract. The BRE Hino Contessa 1300: In this car Brock won the Mission Bell 500, which was the support race for the prestigious Riverside Grand Prix in ‘66. This is where it all began. Brock’s win in this Japanese car kicked off Brock’s long and successful history with Japanese cars. Last but not least is the giant killer BRE Datsun 510: Driver John Morton won two prestigious Trans-Am 2.5 Championships in this #46 car.
